Operation manual for absolute measurements using fluxgate declinometer/inclinometer

Abstract

This operation manual describes the procedure of absolute magnetic measurements using a fluxgate declinometer/inclinometer. For illustrative purposes this manual features the MinGeo 010 D/I instrument (MinGeo Ltd., Hungary), based on the converted non-magnetic theodolite Carl Zeiss Theo 010B with circles graduated in metric degrees (gons). The first part of the manual gives a general overview of the parts and control elements of the instrument. Then the detailed description of absolute measurement using the offset method is given. This manual also includes the example of absolute measurements journal.

This operation manual was prepared within the framework of the Fundamental research program No. IV.8.7 of the Earth Sciences Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences: "Intellectual analysis of geophysical data, geoinformatics and mathematical geophysics".
