Abstract

The presented manual gives recommendations on acquisition and systematization of initial geomagnetic observation data for further building of a database on extreme natural geomagnetic conditions. These recommendations may be used for creation of systems for complex monitoring and analysis of the Earth’s magnetic field using ground-based and satellite data.

This manual is aimed at a wide community of researches in the field of geomagnetism and geophysical metrology, developers of systems for geophysical data storage and analysis and specialists of geomagnetic data centers.

This work was carried out in the framework of the project of the Fundamental Research Program of the RAS Presidium No. I.4 “Strategic mineral resources of Russia: innovative approaches to forecasting, assessment and extraction”.
